My daughter dedicates quite some time to drawing, with art school starting i asked her if she wanted to try a slanted surface for certain types of drawings, i shared my experience with her, in college i used an artist’s table for a lot of works, the most important aspect is posture, the slanted surface gives you the possibility to work without bending over. She was willing to try, so i went to the garage and found a piece of recycled wood that had the right measurements (60x70cm), cleaned it up and found a way to make it rise and fall using things i had at hand. two angled pieces hinged at the back did the trick. the wonderful thing about making things yourself is that modifying according to changing needs is simple as long as you remain open to the possibilities, adequacy becomes quite clear through observation.
Tavolo d’artista
Mia figlia dedica molto tempo al disegno, con l’inizio del liceo artistico le ho chiesto se voleva provare un tavolo con una superficie inclinata per alcuni tipi di disegni, ho condiviso la mia esperienza con lei, durante l’università utilizzavo un tavolo per artisti per il disegno, l’aspetto più importante e’ la postura, la superficie inclinata ti da la possibilità di lavorare senza piegare la schiena. Lei voleva provare, quindi sono andata in garage a trovare il pezzo di legno più adeguato con le misure giuste, l’ho pulito e trovato un modo per farlo inclinare o abbassare con le cose che avevo alla mano, due pezzi di legno con delle cerniere dietro la tavola hanno sistemato la cosa. Una meraviglia del farsi le cose da se e che modificarle in base alle necessita mentre cambiano e semplice se rimani aperto alle possibilità, l’adeguatezza diventa chiara attraverso l’osservazione.
