These pot holders were originally made with recycled textiles and recycled wool from an old mattress, over the years I have found that washing pot holders is not enough to keep them in order. Three teenagers experiment in the kitchen and often soil these beyond a washing remedy, my remedy is to recycle textiles and renew the covering. This time around I used cotton tainted at home with natural dyes, for this particular color I used the cooking water of black rice, a marvelous color.
Recupero/rinnovo tessuti
Queste presine sono state originariamente realizzate con tessuti riciclati e lana recuperata da un vecchio materasso, negli anni ho scoperto che lavare le presine non è sufficiente per tenerle in ordine. Tre adolescenti sperimentano in cucina e spesso li sporcano oltre un rimedio a portata di lavaggio, il mio rimedio quindi è riciclare i tessuti e rifoderarli. Questa volta ho usato cotone tinto in casa con colori naturali, per questo colore particolare ho usato l’acqua di cottura del riso nero, un colore meraviglioso.
