Work on the garage has been very slow dedicating only an hour or two at a time and only on some days, food takes up most of my time and autumn brings a slowing down of activity.
in any case i was able to finish the closet doors, a working table and recycled a couple of ikea drawer structures that were lying around in the house unused, they seem well suited to keep work instruments i would like to move from inside the house to the garage once it is at a good stage.
every piece of wood is recycled/reused from previous works as things change, a lot of pieces were from my first go at the kids closets which i dismantled at some point and used recycled wine boxes instead due to their modularity.
i wanted the closet doors to remain light weight so they would not bend or give hinges a hard time, i used recycled fabrics from old cotton sheets.
There is still an angle on the right that i have not finished, started the work with my brother during the summer, supposed to be a closet with thick cob walls to keep the inside dry, dark and cool so i can store long term ferments such as miso or shoyu, but we’re still a couple of days work away.

Il lavoro sul garage e’ molto lento, dedicando soltanto un ora o due alla volta e solo in alcuni rari giorni, il cibo prende la maggior parte del mio tempo e l’autunno porta ritmi più lenti.
In ogni caso sono riuscita a fare le ante per l’armadio, un tavolo da lavoro e riciclato un paio di vecchie cassettiere ikea che giravano per casa poco utilizzate, mi sono sembrate adatte per tenere in ordine attrezzi e ferramenta che vorrei spostare da casa nel garage una volta che sara’ a buon punto.
ogni pezzo di legno e’ un ulteriore riciclo/riutilizzo da altri lavori man mano che le necessita cambiano, molti pezzi erano dal mio primo tentativo di armadi per i (allora) bambini che ad un certo punto ho smantellato e sostituito con le cassette di legno del vino di recupero che permettono la modularità.
volevo che le ante del armadio rimanessero leggere per evitare piegamenti e attriti inutili delle cerniere, ho utilizzato lenzuola recuperate.
C’e ancora un angolo a destra che non ho ancora ultimato, abbiamo cominciato il lavoro con mio fratello durante l’estate, dovrebbe essere un armadio con muri spessi in argilla per mantenere l’interno asciutto, fresco e buio per i fermenti a lungo termine come shoyu e miso, ma richiederà ancora almeno un paio di giorni di lavoro.
